L’Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay
Cernay, France
Interior Decoration: Cordélia de Castellane
To become a welcoming XXL family home, this former 12th-century Cistercian abbey was extensively and meticulously renovated by Paris Society, led by Laurent de Gourcuff.
The project focused on preserving the site’s history while adding touches of modernity to provide a warm and comfortable experience. Sustainable materials and eco-friendly processes were used throughout. Every detail of the interior spaces was carefully considered. Craftsmen with remarkable skills as well as renowned French houses were called upon.
Brossier Saderne was chosen to design and manufacture, in its Angers workshops, the lighting fixtures for all 147 rooms and suites.
The bathroom wall lamps alternate between full brass designs and combinations of white opaline and brass. In the bedrooms, our lighting fixtures are recognizable by their pleated fabric shades from Pierre Frey and Casamance; brass-finished wall lights on either side of the beds, ceramic table lamps with a subtle chinoiserie style on the bedside tables, and turned wood floor lamps. Topped with floral-patterned shades, they all diffuse a soft light and contribute to the warm, intimate ambience of each room.
