Inaugurated in 1929, the Molitor swimming pool has lived many lives. The building now houses a hotel, with rooms overlooking the outdoor pool in an ocean liner–inspired atmosphere. The project, led by Jean-Philippe Nuel, was conceived as a journey through time, creating a dialogue between Art Deco and contemporary architecture, where avant-garde design and street art elements echo the site’s underground past.
For the hotel reception area, Brossier Saderne developed and manufactured the large, pleated, fringed velvet pendant lights. For the 124 rooms and suites, we created three-armed metal wall lights from the 1950s with conical heads. In the corridors, slender metal pendant lights with a more contemporary design illuminate the
