The Surf Club Hotel Four Seasons

Miami, Floride, U.S.A.

Interior Architecture and Design: Joseph Dirand

Founded in 1930 on an idyllic beach, the Surf Club has welcomed the greats of this world for over eight decades, forging its legend. In 2017, the original building and its iconic row of cabanas became the heart of a major redevelopment project. Three modern buildings were designed by architect Richard Meier to expand the estate, accommodating a hotel, three restaurants, a spa, and 120 private residences. The interior architecture of the entire complex was entrusted to Joseph Dirand, who created spaces filled with elegance and relaxed sophistication—both intimate and warm—as a tribute to the spirit of the original club.

For these venues dedicated to excellence, Brossier Saderne was selected as lighting manufacturer. Our teams worked enthusiastically to develop, manufacture and install the many light fixtures designed by Joseph Dirand's teams. These included brass and ribbed glass chandeliers with hexagonal structures and matching wall lights, glazed lava stone table lamps with cotton shades, brass bar lamps, travertine and braided palm fiber floor lamps in the lobby, and eight models of wall lights for the corridors and other circulation areas. Brossier Saderne also crafted the brass headboard wall lights with cotton shades, as well as the spherical brass pendant lights for the bedrooms and suites.
